Job Opening: Special Needs Childcare Worker
Objective To provide a Christian environment where parents or guardians can leave their children with special needs in a safe and secure facility during Worship, Sunday School, and regular and special Church events.
Responsibilities
1. Provide love and care for children with special needs during Sunday School and Worship.
2. Communicate to the Children’s Ministries Directors when absent due to health or emergency.
3. Maintain awareness and education from Children’s Ministries Directors and report any issues that may arise about special needs children/families
4. Assist with childcare room maintenance, cleanliness and sanitation.
5. Help facilitate learning lessons rooted in Christian education and nurture that are tailored to age and ability level appropriateness.
6. Perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
Work Requirements
• Criminal background check required.
• Must be 21 years old.
• Most work will be conducted on Sundays. There will be additional church-wide events or special worship services that the childcare workers will have the opportunity to work as well.
• Work is Part Time, Non-Exempt.
Knowledges, Abilities, and Skills
• Knowledge of safety and health procedures, such as CPR and first aid
• Previous experience with childcare for children with special needs.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to work with Children’s Ministries Directors and other childcare workers.
Minimum Qualifications: Experience with special needs childcare, babysitting, and/or teaching. Three references and a completed background check are required.
