How long have you been on staff of Lakewood UMC? What do you love most about your role at the church?

I have been on staff for 12 years. Cindy Henry was my wake-up call. I was previously an elementary school teacher who attended church. I love teaching kids. This is the best job in the world, mainly because I still get to teach, but I'm teaching our children about the love of Christ!

Where did you attend school (high school/college/grad school)?

I attended Southwest High School in Fort Worth, Texas, followed by a degree in History and French from the University of Arkansas. I also hold an elementary school teaching certificate.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?

I love to take road trips (stopping at every "brown sign" possible), spend time with my family and extended family, read … and spend more time with family and friends.

Do you have a favorite Bible verse, passage, or story? If so, what is it?

My favorite Bible verse (out of many "almost favorites") is Philippians 4:6-7.  God is always with us.

Do you follow sports? If so, what are your favorite sports/teams?

Sports! Baseball and T&T Gymnastics! Plus, basketball, tennis, and pretty much any college sport there is! My family loves the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Baylor Bears, and the Texas Rangers.

What is your favorite place you have visited? If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go? What would you do there? Who would you go with?

The lake and the beach are a couple of my favorite places. The Durango area of Colorado in summertime holds a special place in my heart as well. If I am with my family, I am in my happy place. Ireland and Scotland are on my bucket list. I'm guessing by now you can figure out who I would like on that trip (a clue: my family).

If you were given the opportunity to share a meal with any one person - past or present, who would you dine with?

If I could dine with anyone, I'm pretty sure it would be Barbara Bush. She was such an amazing woman. Her family was extremely important to her. I'm also sure she probably had some interesting stories to tell.

If you had to choose your last meal, what would it be?

My last meal ... where do I begin? It would probably involve Tex-Mex, steak, and a little hot and sour soup (maybe not all at once?).
